Crucial Components: Teams

Identify Lead/Co-Leads

Leads set meeting agendas, facilitate meetings, assign action items and provide regular updates to leadership.

Establish meeting habits

Meet regularly. Provide virtual and in-person options. Stick to an agenda and be mindful of everyone’s time. Provide ample opportunities for discussion and sharing.

Communicate

Designate a Communication Champion to send meeting reminders, share agendas and update/share project lists. Utilize a shared platform for communication and progress tracking (MS Teams, Google Drive, etc.).

Welcome feedback from others. Develop multiple methods to receive it.

Crucial Components: Meetings

Wins

Start with a “win.” This is an opportunity for team members to share successes and set the tone for positive change.

Updates

Hear updates on active projects. High-level updates keep everyone informed and give the chance for ideas and questions to be shared.

Barriers

Discuss barriers or anticipated barriers. Allow your team to brainstorm about possible solutions.

Action

Determine and assign action items with deadlines. Share the work. Give everyone an opportunity to contribute. Provide timelines to keep work on track.

Voice

Record attendance. An attendance record will help you identify which areas have adequate representation and areas that may need a voice on your team.
